The bank expects that the value of AIA's new business in the first quarter will increase by 24% year-on-year at fixed exchange rates and 21% at real exchange rates, benefiting from strong business trends in mainland China and Hong Kong, and a low base due to the impact of the epidemic in January last year. Among them, the value of new business in the mainland increased by 22% year-on-year at fixed exchange rates, and Hong Kong increased by 42% year-on-year. It also pointed out that mainland tourists visiting Hong Kong in the first quarter have returned to the level of 71% in 2018.
